| Description: | This is a regional position that covers NY, VT, NH, and ME.
Additionally, the position requires approximately 3 days of travel in the field per week with 2 days being spent in a home office. The travel is within a defined geographic region and additional travel may occasionally be necessary. |
| Duties: | The primary responsibilities of the Regional Medical Specialist include:
1) Educate and support health care professionals regarding the implementation of hereditary cancer risk assessment and genetic testing into their practice. This education is accomplished via in-person meetings, email and telephone conversations.
2) Daily interaction with the Myriad sales force to implement the goals and strategies of the company.
Secondary responsibilities include:
1) Provide continuing education to Myriad's external sales force
2) Give lectures to professional and community groups interested in hereditary cancer
3) Interact with other departments (i.e. marketing, managed care and medical services) within Myriad as appropriate. |
| Qualifications: | Minimum Requirements:
Board Certified/Board Eligible genetic counselor or licensed RN, OCN or APN with hereditary cancer risk assessment experience. The candidate must have excellent communication (written and oral) skills, be willing to travel within a defined geographic region, and work well independently. Additionally, the candidate must have at least one year of post-graduate clinical experience.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with hereditary cancer risk assessment in the clinical setting is strongly desired. |
