| Description: | Myriad Genetic Laboratories, Inc. (MGL) is seeking an energetic individual with a strong background in genetics to assist the Laboratory Directors in the processes necessary for the accurate and efficient interpretation and reporting of clinical molecular genetic test results.
Expectations will be as follows:
Support the laboratory directors in the processes involved with result analysis and interpretation, and facilitate reporting of clinical molecular genetic test results as primarily related to hereditary cancer risk
Critical review of the scientific literature relating to hereditary cancer testing in support of Myriad’s ongoing mutation classification and reclassification efforts
Assist the Laboratory Directors in coordination with Medical Services and Clinical laboratory personnel to expedite the resolution of cases requiring special handling
Activities in support of internal and external communication of Myriad’s scientific results

| Duties: | This individual will be primarily responsible for reviewing/reporting clinical cases, assisting in the classification of newly discovered variants, and overseeing the design and implementation of specialized laboratory testing procedures required for the analysis of unique patient cases. The successful candidate will interact with laboratory directors on a daily basis and co-ordinate interactions with laboratory personnel as needed for the reporting of patient test results. |
| Qualifications: | Applicant should hold a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a biological science or Public Health and be able to demonstrate a firm foundation in genetics with a broad knowledge of molecular techniques and their applications to clinical diagnostics. |
