| Description: | Regional position that covers the major cities in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
This is a regional position that requires approximately 3 days of travel in the field per week with 2 days being spent in a home office. The travel is within a defined geographic region and additional travel may occasionally be necessary. |
| Duties: | The primary responsibilities of the Regional Medical Specialist include:
1) Educate and support health care professionals working in Women’s Health regarding hereditary cancer risk assessment and genetic testing. This education is accomplished via in-person meetings, email and telephone conversations. 2) Daily interaction with the Myriad sales force to implement the goals and strategies of the company.
Secondary responsibilities include:
1) Provide continuing education to Myriad's external sales force 2) Give lectures to professional and community groups interested in hereditary cancer 3) Interact with the other departments (i.e., marketing, managed care and medical services) within Myriad as appropriate. |
| Qualifications: | Board Certified/Board Eligible genetic counselor or licensed advanced practice nurse with hereditary cancer risk assessment experience. The candidate must have excellent communication (written and oral) skills, be willing to travel within a defined geographic region and work independently. Additionally, the candidate must have at least one year of post-graduate clinical experience.
Preferred Skills: Experience with hereditary cancer risk assessment in the clinical setting is strongly desired. |
